I'm sorry, but my friends on the left and the right feel the Senators on the committee and as a whole did not come off as "principled" or as primarily concerned with the citizens as a whole.
It seems that small groups of far right and far left influence groups took the Senate and the confirmation process hostage.
All sides added to the divisiveness. Regard for the Senate scores pretty low. It seems only Justice Alito came off well in the minds of the voters.
